A junction moment
William-Reed-statement-on-the-

What a few weeks. We have mourned and celebrated the Queen's life and thanked God for her example. Whatever people’s opinion of the royal family, so many people loved our faithful Queen which went beyond the opinion of an institution.

Her faith was on display; from private stories shared, to journalists highlighting her beliefs. We also heard a brilliant gospel message from Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Monday at the funeral. Her death has created ripples that have gone across the world and added to the turmoil people are already facing in this current climate. People of all ages are asking questions about mortality, life beyond death, why she chose to serve, and why Jesus. This is a moment we must not miss as the church.

What is happening now reflects what we found in the Talking Jesus research this year. For those who came to faith under the age of 18, 12% said a particular life event [positive or negative] led them to choose to follow Jesus. For those who came to faith as adults, the statistic was 23%. This is a national life event, a junction moment in society, people are looking for hope, and it is Jesus!

NDPS22 Facebook Post PrayPray today!

Are you joining The National Day of Prayer for Schools today? We recognise that while many children and young people in the UK are not actively engaged in a local church, 99% of children and young people are in mainstream education.

Let’s join together to pray for our local schools. We would love you to use OIKOS Prayer app to show us where you are praying and encourage others too. You can join in with the day of prayer in lots of ways, one is to join Just Pray at 8pm, tonight.

Friends huggingEncourage young people to share faith

We discovered that 34% of young Christians share faith regularly in our Influencers research. Therefore, even if you only have three young people in your youth group, we challenge you to think about if one of them needs extra encouragement. Amplify could be so good for them, applications for this year close in just under two weeks.

Poppy in the groundRemembering November

November is a time of remembrance. There has been so much loss in the past few years, from people to plans, friends to freedoms. We encourage you to set up prayer spaces in community places and in schools. Check our HOPE Spaces resources and for schools.
