3 Young People on how they are sharing Jesus with their peers
Amplify, the Young Evangelists’ Academy, was set up with the dream of releasing young people to reach their peers with the good news of Jesus.
As Amplify gears up to train 200 young people this year, we’re asking church and youth leaders to help us find those young people with the gift of evangelism.
Amplify has already had a huge impact, training over 250 young people so far. Here are just 3 of those of have attended Amplify sharing the highlights of their life since the programme:
Fin’s Story
‘Honestly, since beginning the Amplify year, I've had such an exciting time witnessing for Jesus at my college. I've led an Alpha course; I designed a whole school chapel service and preached at it, and I've recently taken on running the school Christian Union after our assistant chaplain left.
More than that, I have found myself having so many more "God conversations" in my every day with friends and others – I reckon now I have a "God conversation" at least a couple of times a day now, which is up from maybe once a week if lucky before Amplify!
So far, I've seen three of my friends give their lives to Jesus (the first one the day after the Amplify residential!), and it's been so cool seeing them grow in their faith. One of my favourite moments this year was literally this week when Santi (the first of my friends to become a Christian) called me into his room and showed me all of the notes he'd been independently taking in the Bible I gave him and the worship playlist he'd been listening to!
I can feel many of my friends are just so close to making the commitment, and I'm fully believing in God for more salvations before the end of the year! It's been so amazing being used by God to represent him at my college, and he's given me such an increased hunger for sharing him with others. I'm so thankful to him, because all of this has definitely been his work, as I was not doing anything like this before the Amplify year – all glory to God!

‘Amplify has really increased my confidence and creativity in sharing Jesus and taught me the power of prayer through our small group! I’ve started a lunch club called X-plore for anyone to come and hear about Jesus. Also, I have scattered seeds by sharing my faith more confidently with friends. One fun way was by writing Christmas cards with the gospel in them!’
Seb’s story
‘Since Amplify, I’ve been on a spree of preaching at residential events around the UK. I've preached at my home church and our all-age youth group, and I’ve introduced new people to church. I've taken atheists to church events to show them what Christianity can look like, and I found Christian friends at college (an answer to a seven-year-long prayer to have Christians in my year group!) I've produced and distributed sets of tracts, encouraging the church family to help plant over 500 seeds each time. Over the past year I've personally invited all 2000 households in our parish to church around Christmas and autumn. I’ve been on the streets praying for random people. We gifted 200 local businesses with planted flowers with gospel messages, and I mentored a friend who came to know Jesus in 2020 - all this recently despite a troublesome diagnosis. I really feel God working through me in daily life and am excited to see what else he can use me for!’
